I share the fascination with Leonardo DaVinci’s drawings. He sketched so that he could rapidly visualize and better explore the ideas that were forming in his mind.

He often set the goal of conveying motion - using varying line weights and over drawing to convey the impression that his subject was moving.

Could this intent to convey motive energy be combined with the Asian goal of not simply reproducing the appearance of the subject, but to capture and reflect its spirit?
